Preferences view - General Settings

All other program screens are displayed as pop-up dialogs.

You can navigate between the main program sections using several methods:

  • Sidebar Buttons: Use the dedicated buttons for Groups, Tags, Calendar, and Preferences.
  • Escape Key: Press the Escape key to return to the previous page.
  • Mouse Back Button: If your mouse has a side button mapped to the "Back" action (as in web browsers), you can use it for navigation.

To cancel an editing operation and close any popup dialog, you can press Escape key or click the Cancel button.
The button toggles the Preferences page to open or closed.

Note

If you press Escape after making changes in the Contact Editor, you will be prompted to confirm cancellation. This feature prevents you from accidentally losing unsaved data. The same confirmation will appear if you attempt to navigate to Previous, Next, First, or Last while unsaved changes are present in the Contact Editor.

Color Themes

You can customize the program's appearance by selecting a color theme from the Themes drop-down list in the main menu. Currently, the following themes are available:

  • Two Light themes
  • Two Dark themes
  • One High Contrast theme

Notes

  • When Same as System is selected, the program will automatically follow your operating system's theme preference (Light or Dark), based on the settings in Windows Settings > Personalize > Colors > Mode.

  • When High Contrast is set on the system level in Windows Accessibility settings, Themes selection will not be available as system High Contrast takes preference. You will see "System High Contrast in effect" text in the Themes menu.

Zoom (Font Size Adjustment)

The application includes a convenient Zoom function that allows you to quickly increase or decrease the font size across the interface.

Method 1: Using a Scroll Wheel Mouse To adjust the zoom level:

  1. Hold down the Ctrl key.
  2. Scroll the mouse wheel up (to zoom in) or down (to zoom out).

(The current zoom percentage will briefly appear in the program header.)

Method 2: Without a Scroll Wheel If you are using a laptop without a dedicated scroll wheel, you can often simulate this function using a two-finger scroll on your touchpad. Please search for specific instructions for your laptop model (e.g., "how to simulate mouse wheel on [laptop brand] laptop").

Zoom Limits

If the zoom level is set too high, you may encounter minor visual distortions or clipping of text/controls within the application.
