Print Avery address labels
Print Avery Address Labels
You can print Avery address labels utilizing two tools: EZ Contact Book and the Avery software.
This process is completed in three main steps:
I. Create a Tag for the Mailing List in EZ Contact Book
II. Export Contacts to a CSV File
III. Design and Print Labels using 'Avery Design & Print Online'
I. Create a Tag for Contacts Mailing List
Creating a dedicated tag ensures you select the correct subset of contacts for printing.
- Create a new tag (e.g. Mailing List).
- Select the contacts you want to include on the labels. You can select contacts from different groups by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking them individually, or by clicking one entry and using the Shift key while scrolling for sequential selection.
-
Once the desired contacts are selected (highlighted), right-click and choose Add/Remove Tag. Select the tag name from the submenu to assign it to all selected entries. Learn more about using tags.

-
Navigate to the Tags section and review the tag content to confirm it includes all necessary contacts.
Tip
- You can tag contacts from multiple groups
- Use separate tags for business and personal contacts since their addresses belong to different data fields.
II. Export Contacts from EZ Contact Book
This step prepares a specific CSV file optimized for Avery's online mail merge.
- Select the tag you created in Step I.
- Select main menu option Data > Export Data from (selected tag) > ... to Avery Mail List.
- Review the addresses in the following dialog and filter them if necessary.
- Click Export and save the resulting .CSV file in an easily accessible location.
Tip
Give the file a meaningful, descriptive name, such as Mailing-List-2026N.csv.
Next, you will use this file with Avery's online tools. Choose a suitable label template from Avery website. To use the Avery design software, you may need to create a free account in MyAvery.
III. Design and Print Labels using 'Avery Design $ Print Online'
Note
Avery may update its website layout, so the provided screenshots may differ slightly from the current online interface.
- Go to the Avery website and click Templates > Design & Print Online.
- Select a product category, such as Address & Shipping.
- Scroll through the options and select your product code (e.g., 5260 (30 labels per sheet)), then click Select this product.
- Choose a label design, then click Select this Design.
-
In the label designer, select all three default text fields, typically Name, Address, and City State Zip Code.

-
Click Import Data on the left menu, then select Start Mail Merge:

-
In the dialog that appears, browse for and select the .CSV file exported in Step II.
- Review the imported data and click Next.
- You will see an editor with Available fields on the left, and Arrange fields on the right.
-
Drag and drop the fields in the correct order under Arrange fields. Your final mapping should look similar to this:

-
Click Next, then Finish. You will see the final label layout populated with your contact data:

-
Adjust text positioning, font, and other settings as needed. Once satisfied, click Preview & Print.
- Preview your label project before printing. You can zoom in to check details.
Tip
To ensure proper alignment and avoid wasting label sheets, always perform a test print on regular paper first. Place the printed test page over a blank Avery sheet to check the exact positioning.
