Working with Tags

Tags allow you to group contacts that belong to different groups but share common characteristics.

For example, you may want to create a list of people you send Christmas cards to, including both friends and business associates. Since a contact can only belong to one primary group, tags provide a flexible solution for cross-categorization. A single contact can have multiple tags, and contacts from different groups can share the same tag.

Manage Tags

To manage tags:

  • Select any tag item on the left sidebar.
  • Right click to select New Tag, Rename Tag, or Delete Tag.

Note

Top-level Tags entry itself cannot be deleted.

Deleting a tag removes it from all contacts to which it was assigned.

Assign Tags to Contacts

You can assign tags directly from the main contact list:

  1. Select the Groups, or one or more individual groups.
  2. Select one or more contacts,
  3. Right-click the selected contacts and choose the target tag. (You can also create a new tag here and assign it to the selected contact(s).)
